Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Transportation Division/Traffic Engineering and ITS Business Class of HDR is seeking a highly skilled Traffic Operations Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in traffic analysis and operations, with experience in emerging technologies and innovative solutions. The primary duties of this position include:
- Providing planning and oversight for large area traffic analysis and emerging technology system planning
- Developing and implementing traffic operations analysis and congestion relief plans
- Working with regional traffic demand models to provide future traffic forecasts
- Creating and implementing Excel worksheets and Visual Basic macros to automate and streamline traffic analysis
- Performing large-scale simulations for freeway corridors and arterial interchanges
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing traffic operations analysis and congestion relief plans
- Working with regional traffic demand models to provide future traffic forecasts
- Creating and implementing Excel worksheets and Visual Basic macros to automate and streamline traffic analysis
- Performing large-scale simulations for freeway corridors and arterial interchanges
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil and Transportation Engineering
- Minimum of 6 years experience in traffic analysis and operations
- Hands-on experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro/SimTraffic, AIMSUN, and VISSIM
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software integral to our business
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
