Digital Communications Specialist

About This Role:
This position is part of the Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) and serves the Institute of Digital Agriculture and Advanced Analytics (ID3A). The specialist will work closely with DCM counterparts and ensure adherence to university branding guidelines and that messaging is appropriately aligned.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support the communications and marketing efforts for ID3A. Tasks may include promoting research products to the public, designing and executing social media campaigns, corporate and alumni engagement, and recruitment.
The specialist will work closely with the ID3A board of directors and program manager to execute communications through a wide range of media, targeting various audiences. This includes leading the institute's social media and web presence, writing news releases, curating institute data, and leading other communications efforts to highlight all aspects of the institute's diverse mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communications strategies to promote ID3A's research and initiatives
- Design and execute social media campaigns to engage with various audiences
- Collaborate with the ID3A board of directors and program manager to execute communications efforts
- Lead the institute's social media and web presence
- Write news releases and curate institute data
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 1-5 years of experience in communications or marketing
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
