About the Role

The Veterinary Health Center at Kansas State University is seeking a skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team. As a critical care specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide vital care for critical patients, operating medical equipment, and performing or assisting in technical procedures.
  • Monitor medical records, organize technical work, maintain equipment and supply statuses, and coordinate animal treatments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Completion of a two-year college program in veterinary and animal technology accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association.
  • For Veterinary Nurse II: two years of relevant experience.
  • For Veterinary Nurse III: five years of relevant experience as a veterinary technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) after passing the Veterinary Technician National Exam.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic veterinary medical concepts, animal behavior, and animal husbandry.
  • Ability to perform general diagnostic procedures and technical tasks associated with emergency medical care.
  • Ability to work with and provide preventative maintenance for ordinary veterinary medical hospital equipment.
