About the Position

The Environmental Services Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining the highest level of cleanliness and safety throughout the hospital and clinic. This position is responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients, staff, and the community by adhering to strict cleaning and disinfection protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of patients and staff by maintaining a clean and hygienic environment
  • Clean and disinfect all areas of the hospital, including floors, surfaces, and equipment
  • Operate various cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, and buffers
  • Dispose of infectious, medical, and hazardous waste in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner
  • Participate in departmental trainings and activities to expand knowledge and skills
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure patients and providers have a positive experience
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner
  • Ability to perform physical demands of the job, including moving furniture and equipment
  • Experience with cleaning equipment and chemicals is preferred, but on-the-job training is provided
  • Ability to adhere to and follow Grand Itasca's Mission, Values, Vision, and policies
  • Reliable and consistent attendance
