Our diverse team of over 500 professionals offers a range of services including prevention programs, foster care, residential treatment, adoption services, and medical and mental health support.

Position Summary:

We are seeking full-time or part-time Case Aides to join our foster care program. As a vital member of the treatment team, Case Aides will deliver direct services to families, fostering trusting relationships with both the families and the Case Planner's team. The role involves close collaboration to develop and implement goals aimed at achieving safe and timely reunification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to the agency's service values and organizational goals.
  • Coordinate and assist with weekly Parenting Time schedules, ensuring adherence to guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Case Planner to organize monthly treatment plan meetings.
  • Participate in court proceedings alongside Case Planners and youth as necessary.
  • Engage actively in treatment team meetings, discharge conferences, and other relevant service plan discussions.
  • Meet with families or youth at least twice a month to review progress in service engagement and specific assignments.
  • Document all case-related events in the Connections database.
  • Attend scheduled unit meetings with supervisors and other staff to discuss challenging cases and stay updated on agency policies.
  • Perform administrative tasks including incident reports and children's placement movements.
  • Participate in school conferences and IEP meetings.
  • Support parents during home assessments and treatment team discussions.
  • Provide assistance to parents, the Case Planning team, and children in care.
  • Complete required training sessions as mandated by ACS, OCFS, and the agency.
  • Engage in transitional meetings for new intakes to facilitate family engagement.
  • Handle new admission documentation and protocols.
  • Obtain necessary medical consents from parents.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Solid understanding of social casework principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations governing child care and treatment.
  • Experience in services related to families and children, preferably in medical or child welfare contexts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with clients and gather necessary information through interviews.
  • Capability to prepare clear and comprehensive case records and draw logical conclusions based on relevant information.

Minimum Requirements:

A High School Diploma or GED with at least one year of relevant experience; knowledge of the child welfare system is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

This position may require travel within the boroughs. A valid NYS Driver's License is necessary if using a personal or agency vehicle for work-related duties.
