Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Licensed Pharmacist to join our esteemed medical team at the Phoenix Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) in Phoenix, Arizona. As a member of our team, you will be at the forefront of delivering high-quality support services to patients in the VAMC healthcare facility.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing supportive patient care and medical services according to established protocols and standards.
  • Dispensing medications: Accurately preparing and dispensing prescription medications to patients.
  • Patient consultation: Providing advice and answering questions about medications, their side effects, and interactions.

Job Location: Phoenix VAMC

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have a current, valid, unrestricted pharmacist license in one of the U.S. states, territories, commonwealths, or District of Columbia.

You must also have:

  • Three professional references.
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BS Pharm) that has been recognized by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • Must pass the Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE) for state of operation/practice. Completion of an American Society of Health System Pharmacists (AHSP) accredited residency is preferred.
  • One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes providing clinical pharmaceutical care to patients; advising on medication therapy management; and training or educating health care professionals on the use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Certifications: Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Board certification in one or more of the pharmacy specialties recognized by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties or completion of a clinical pharmacy residency or fellowship accredited by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists or American College of Clinical Pharmacy is preferred.
