Job Summary

As a Field Engineer with American Engineering Testing, you will provide critical support to our Construction Services Division. Your expertise will be instrumental in assisting engineers and technicians with various projects, including laboratory testing and field observation of construction materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geotechnical field testing in accordance with QA procedures.
  • Perform special inspection services, materials testing, or environmental services as needed.
  • Assist in training less experienced personnel in routine field work and documentation.
  • Conduct soil laboratory tests and log/classify soil samples in laboratory or fieldwork settings.
  • Prepare reports of field and laboratory work, including detailed site visit reports.
  • Communicate with clients to determine project needs and complete tasks in accordance with project quality requirements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science-related field.
  • Internship or previous work experience preferred, but not mandatory.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of fundamental engineering or scientific principles within specialty area.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE).
  • Experience using personal computer software, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work at environmental remediation, industrial, and construction sites, performing field work, including collecting samples, operating field instruments, and documenting field activities and data collected.
Work Environment

This role primarily operates in a professional office environment, with occasional field work in outdoor conditions on construction sites. The employee must be able to frequently work outside and occasionally lift and/or move up to 200 pounds.
