Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Northern California Behavioral Health System. As a key member of our treatment team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality direct patient care to individuals with addictive disease disorders or psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Treatment Planning: Participate in treatment planning, identify patients' needs, strengths, and suggest modifications to treatment plans.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients' progress, communicate with the treatment team, co-facilitate groups, and ensure patients' safety and participation in therapeutic activities.
- Patient Assessment, Medication, and Nutrition: Administer prescribed medications, complete nursing assessments, and assist with dietary needs.
- Patient Attendant: Support patients in activities of daily living, maintain a therapeutic environment, and assist with patient transportation.
- Patient Records: Maintain accurate patient documentation and provide administrative support.
- Training Activities: Participate in professional development activities and training programs.
- Other Duties: Adhere to ethical standards, uphold customer service, and perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
- Education/Licensure: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Current LPT License: Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician license
- CPR Certification: Current CPR certification
- NCI Equivalent: Current NCI equivalent as approved by the Chief Nursing Officer
Knowledge and Experience:
- Medical and Psychological Terminology: Basic understanding of medical and psychological terminology
- Addiction Treatment Principles: Familiarity with addiction treatment principles
- Detoxification Assessment and Treatment Procedures: Ability to learn and apply detoxification assessment and treatment procedures
Skills and Abilities:
- Patient Confidentiality: Maintain patient confidentiality
- Interpersonal Skills: Interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Problem-Solving and Decision-Making Skills: Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work independently and in a team
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Handle fast-paced environments with flexibility
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle potentially challenging situations, move quickly between tasks, and exert physical effort when needed. Strong communication skills, ability to perceive detailed information, and perform repetitive motions.
