Job Title: Tax Senior

Our client, a forward-thinking CPA firm, is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Tax Senior to join their team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for leadership and career advancement in an influential position.

Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including federal and state returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals within the oil and gas industry.
  • Conducting tax research and planning to optimize tax strategies and compliance.
  • Providing tax advisory services and communicating with clients to provide high-level tax advice.
  • Collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax accounting and reporting.
  • Monitoring and interpreting tax law developments, including communicating relevant updates to the team and clients.
  • Assisting in tax audits and responding to tax notices.
  • Mentoring and training junior tax staff members.
  • Participating in business development initiatives and networking events to build and maintain professional relationships.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing oil and gas tax returns.
  • Strong knowledge of tax accounting, tax advisory, tax research, tax planning, and tax returns.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
