Job Overview

Big Red Liquors is seeking a highly skilled Wine Manager to lead our Wine Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining exceptional guest services, overseeing the operation of the Wine Department, and driving sales and profitability through merchandise, inventory, and expense control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding guest service by creating a welcoming environment, greeting and acknowledging every guest, and maintaining high standards of product knowledge and service.
  • Analyze business trends, develop plans to maximize sales, and meet or exceed goals and objectives.
  • Ensure optimal merchandise stock levels, presentations, signing, and assortment in the Wine Department, in collaboration with Corporate Merchandising & Marketing Wine Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures through regular store management and staff meetings, store walk-throughs, and audits.
  • Train and develop Wine Sales Associates to achieve exceptional results.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of wine necessary.
  • Three years or more experience in retail or on-premise setting.
  • CSW Certification an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Provide an extremely high level of customer service.
  • MS Office knowledge required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
  • Organized with a great attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb.
  • Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Travel:

  • Minimal travel is expected for this position.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Must maintain Indiana State Employee Permit.
  • Must maintain Indiana State Approved Server Training Certification.
