Job Overview

As a Food Safety Specialist at Michael Foods Inc., you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our food products. This is a 2nd shift position, working from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Receive and prepare samples for microbiological, chemical, or process analysis, adhering to standardized procedures.
  • Perform laboratory tests using established methods to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and review test results against specifications.
  • Promote Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and ensure equipment checks and safety monitoring.
  • Support the lab's quality control system and database.
  • Conduct process/chemical analysis, work safely with chemicals, and prepare solutions for production.
  • Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biological Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to read, interpret, and communicate effectively with various documents.
  • Excellent reasoning ability and capacity to solve practical problems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP principles essential for microbiology and chemistry testing.
