Your Role

As a Project Architect, you will be a licensed professional entrusted with the health, safety, and welfare of the public.

Your diverse experience and knowledge will be essential, and you may also possess specialized expertise.

You will be responsible for overseeing complex tasks and smaller projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Interpret sketches, drawings, codes, and building programs.
- Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to develop three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Prepare and revise documentation across various architectural phases, including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, and sections.
- Apply building codes, energy codes, and regulatory agency requirements effectively.
- Assist in coordinating permit requirements for city building permit sets.
- Manage the integration of building systems (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.) and related documentation, including clash detection within the BIM model.
- Coordinate civil engineering work as it pertains to building design.
- Conduct field observations and report on construction progress.
- Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), and prepare site observation reports.
- Evaluate building designs using sustainable design principles.
- Lead project coordination and site meetings with internal team members and external consultants, owners, and contractors.
- Participate in client project requirement meetings and value analysis.
- Assist in preparing specifications in collaboration with building plans and specifications writers.
- Recommend and select building systems and materials.
- Engage in constructability reviews and the bidding process, preparing necessary addenda.
- Coordinate and direct external consultants, evaluating the quality and progress of their work.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on your projects.
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets, schedules, and overall work planning.
- Ensure that all work aligns with project budgets, schedules, and overall planning.
- Provide mentorship, facilitating problem-solving while promoting personal and professional growth.

Qualifications

Your Skills and Credentials
- Proficient in hand sketching and effectively communicating concepts and ideas.
- Ability to apply accessibility codes, building codes, and life-safety codes across diverse project scopes.
- Experience with modeling and drafting software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD).

Education and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in architecture is required.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is required.
- Registration as an Architect in Texas is mandatory.
- LEED Green Associate or LEED AP credentials are preferred.
