Job Description:

Position Overview:

Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide critical support to teachers in delivering educational services to students, assist with classroom management, and offer individualized support to students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instructional Support: Assist the lead teacher in classroom instruction and activities, ensuring a high-quality learning environment.
  • Individualized Support: Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students with special needs, promoting their academic and personal growth.
  • Classroom Management: Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a conducive learning environment, fostering a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Instructional Support: Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to reinforce learning concepts, addressing the diverse needs of students.
  • Preparation and Organization: Prepare and organize teaching materials and resources, ensuring a well-structured and efficient learning environment.
  • Supervision: Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities, promoting their safety and well-being.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with record-keeping, grading, and other administrative tasks as required, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrators about student progress and needs, building strong relationships and partnerships.
  • Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices, enhancing your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or higher in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children; strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Technology: Basic proficiency in using educational technology and computer applications.

Requirements:

  • Background Check: Successful completion of a background check and fingerprinting is required.
  • Health Screening: Compliance with local health and safety regulations, including TB testing.
  • Certification: Completion of any required paraprofessional certification or training mandated by the state of Florida.

Working Conditions:

  • The position involves working primarily in a classroom setting.
  • Interaction with students, teachers, parents, and school administrators is frequent.
  • Physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting, may be required.
