Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Transplant Community as an Organ Procurement Coordinator. This is a unique and challenging role that requires strong clinical and interpersonal skills to work with donor families, critical care staff, and surgical transplant teams to recover organs for transplant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate potential organ and tissue donors and guide families through the decision to donate
  • Manage the clinical care of donors to ensure organ viability
  • Locate recipients for each transplantable organ and assist in the recovery process
  • Liaise with hospital personnel, ICU staff, and physicians to develop relationships and provide educational programs
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
  • RN License issued by the State of California
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months
  • Two (2) years of Intensive care (or equivalent) experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • BSN
  • ACLS and/or ART
  • Experience in developing education plans for new staff
  • Understanding of families in crisis regardless of socio-economic background
  • Organ/tissue donation experience
Working Conditions

Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Compensation

$123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
