Nurse Care Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse I to join our team at Northern Light Health. As a Nurse Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality services.
About the Role:
- Patient Safety: Ensure safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand off communication and reporting patient care information, and asking for assistance when needed.
- Clinical Assessments: Perform and document systematic assessments according to established criteria, recognizing and responding to abnormal diagnostic data, and reporting to appropriate providers.
- Caring & Code of Conduct: Develop and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and staff, treating patients with courtesy and respect.
- Critical Thinking: Utilize theoretical knowledge base to operationalize care, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to accomplish assigned duties.
- Documentation: Accurately and completely document patient information, adhering to hospital, regulatory, and legal requirements.
- Population Specific Competency: Complete mandatory education competencies as defined by the unit scope of service, providing culturally competent care and patient-centered care.
- Evidenced Based Practice & Research: Practice consistently with organizational policies and procedures, demonstrating awareness of evidence-based practice.
- Leadership and Professional Conduct: Utilize appropriate time management, meet expectations for punctuality and attendance, and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to support staffing needs.
- Collaboration and Teamwork: Implement the plan of care, identify resources to meet patient care needs, and communicate changes in patient conditions that may impact unit staffing levels or patient care provision.
- Resource Management: Utilize available resources appropriately and seek assistance when needed.
- Professional Development: Take responsibility for meeting education and mandatory programs, complete clinical evidence-based competencies, and participate in the peer review process.
- Performance Improvement: Demonstrate awareness of performance improvement initiatives and participate in quality assurance activities.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma/General Educational Development (GED) or equivalent; additional education and experience may be required according to work location.
- Experience: 0 years of relevant work experience.
- Credentials: Registered Nurse license.
- BLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Clinical skills per Maine State Board of Nursing Scope of Service for RNs.
Working Conditions:
- Lifting, moving, and loading up to 50 pounds.
- Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
Estimated Salary:$65,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
