Thermal Protection Systems Engineer III

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Thermal Protection Systems Engineer III, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and success of our reusable launch vehicles.

This position supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond. You'll contribute to the design, testing, and implementation of thermal protection systems (TPS) materials and processes, working closely with a diverse team of specialists, technicians, and engineers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Refining TPS processes to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing and assembly
  • Conducting testing and analysis to validate TPS performance
  • Transitioning processes to the TPS manufacturing unit
  • Solving issues related to production, integration, and refurbishment of TPS

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in materials science, chemical engineering, or chemistry, and 4+ years of experience in a related field. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree and 6+ years of experience in TPS development, testing, and data analysis.
