Key Responsibilities
The technology behind Mainspring's Linear Generator is unique in the marketplace. It utilizes advanced electrical power and control hardware systems to achieve superior efficiency while adhering to stringent emissions standards. Our skilled electrical engineering team is responsible for the design of these hardware systems, overseeing the process from initial concept through testing and production.
We are seeking a power electronics engineer to play a pivotal role in the development of our Linear Generator's power electronics systems. As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing custom power electronics hardware essential for the functionality of our Linear Generator.
- Bringing up, validating, and qualifying your power electronics designs.
- Troubleshooting complex hardware challenges encountered in testing, production, and field applications.
- Collaborating with the new production introduction team and external suppliers to enhance designs for manufacturability and testability.
- Partnering with reliability engineers to improve the reliability of electrical hardware.
- Acting as an authority on the hardware systems you are responsible for.
This position offers a remarkable opportunity for professional growth, allowing you to work closely with and learn from a team of highly skilled power electronics engineers. Together, you will collectively manage all custom power electronics within our system.
This role is hybrid, requiring on-site presence for testing, troubleshooting, and manufacturing support as necessary.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A strong enthusiasm for hands-on hardware development.
- A collaborative mindset with proven communication skills across diverse teams.
- Solid fundamentals in electronics design, with the ability to translate conceptual designs into schematics.
- Demonstrated ownership of a power electronics design project.
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- 0-3 years of experience in developing power electronics designs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in designing high voltage systems (480VAC / 600VDC).
- Experience with kW-level power electronics.
- Familiarity with the complete hardware development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to manufacturing support.
- Experience in a startup or fast-paced development environment.
- Proficiency with Altium software.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is competitive and includes base pay along with pre-IPO stock options and benefits. Compensation will be adjusted based on the candidate's experience.
