Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead the technical definition of assigned projects, including site layouts, equipment selection, and electrical protection schemes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power generation systems, electrical engineering, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall technical definition of assigned projects, including site layouts, equipment selection, and electrical protection schemes.
  • Interact with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review project documents and designs to identify gaps in scope and responsibility.
  • Conduct engineering reviews, site assessments, and root cause analyses.
  • Create and compile initial project diagrams and documentation.
  • Work with EPC partners to ensure correct translation of project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide guidance and technical support.
  • Perform engineering reviews of system designs and QA/QC system inspections.
  • Support procurement activities by managing supplier information gathering and generating technical requirement documents.
  • Develop technical specifications, vendor reviews, and supplier qualifications.
  • Assist in special assessments for determination of root causes of system under-performance.
  • Provide background research on technical questions.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives to support increased operational efficiencies.
  • Monitor assigned engineering deliverables for completion and initiate corrective actions as identified.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Mechatronics Engineering degree preferred).
  • Proven working experience as a project engineer or power systems engineer with 8-12 years of relevant experience with onsite power generation projects.
  • Experience with project management, data acquisition systems, electrical drawings, and power generation system design.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and standards for the power generation industry.
  • Comprehension of low and medium voltage electrical protection functions, devices, and their use.
  • Basic understanding of automated controls and industrial network protocols and devices.
  • Excellent decision making, communication, time management, documentation, and organizational skills.
What We Offer

Mainspring Energy offers a competitive salary range of $110k-$125k, plus bonus, pre-IPO stock options, and benefits. This position is remote, and the salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location and experience.
