Job SummaryWe're seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to lead the technical definition of assigned projects, including site layouts, equipment selection, and electrical protection schemes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in power generation systems, electrical engineering, and project management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the overall technical definition of assigned projects, including site layouts, equipment selection, and electrical protection schemes.
- Interact with clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review project documents and designs to identify gaps in scope and responsibility.
- Conduct engineering reviews, site assessments, and root cause analyses.
- Create and compile initial project diagrams and documentation.
- Work with EPC partners to ensure correct translation of project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to provide guidance and technical support.
- Perform engineering reviews of system designs and QA/QC system inspections.
- Support procurement activities by managing supplier information gathering and generating technical requirement documents.
- Develop technical specifications, vendor reviews, and supplier qualifications.
- Assist in special assessments for determination of root causes of system under-performance.
- Provide background research on technical questions.
- Participate in improvement initiatives to support increased operational efficiencies.
- Monitor assigned engineering deliverables for completion and initiate corrective actions as identified.
- B.S. degree in Engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Controls or Mechatronics Engineering degree preferred).
- Proven working experience as a project engineer or power systems engineer with 8-12 years of relevant experience with onsite power generation projects.
- Experience with project management, data acquisition systems, electrical drawings, and power generation system design.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and standards for the power generation industry.
- Comprehension of low and medium voltage electrical protection functions, devices, and their use.
- Basic understanding of automated controls and industrial network protocols and devices.
- Excellent decision making, communication, time management, documentation, and organizational skills.
Mainspring Energy offers a competitive salary range of $110k-$125k, plus bonus, pre-IPO stock options, and benefits. This position is remote, and the salary will be adjusted to reflect local market conditions based on employee location and experience.
