We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Student Engagement Coordinator. This role will support the American Democracy Project (ADP) in planning and leading civic engagement work at Sam Houston State University.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet planning deadlines and serve as a key spokesperson for the ADP.
  • Assist in planning and conducting deliberative dialogue events, civic professional development, and voter education activities.
  • Complete orientations, weekly timesheets, and regular check-ins with the ADP, campus partners, and affiliates.
  • Participate in professional development associated with civic engagement and campus initiatives.
  • Contribute to the collection and dissemination of promotion/imagery of events via social media.
  • Attend campus, local, and regional meetings to learn new skills, discuss issues, and network with other students and organizations passionate about civic engagement.
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and comply with confidentiality policies.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to be flexible and change duties with short notice as needed.
  • Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
  • Be a full-time, degree-seeking student and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
  • Work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Be reliable, professional, and willing to learn.
