Role Overview:

The Communications Manager will lead all internal and external communication efforts for Black Girls Know Best, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging and brand voice across all platforms.

This role will manage media relations and develop strategies to elevate the organization's public image and community outreach, ultimately amplifying the voices and experiences of Black girls.


Responsibilities:

Strategy Development:
Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with Black Girls Know Best's mission and objectives.
Craft messaging that amplifies the voices and stories of Black girls.

Content Creation:

Create and oversee the production of press releases, newsletters, blog posts, and social media content that highlight the experiences and achievements of Black girls.

Maintain and regularly update the organization's website with fresh and relevant content.


Media Relations:
Build and sustain relationships with media contacts to increase coverage of issues affecting Black girls.
Handle media inquiries and coordinate press events to ensure positive coverage of Black Girls Know Best's initiatives.

Social Media Management:
Develop and execute a dynamic social media strategy that engages and empowers Black girls.
Monitor engagement, analyze metrics, and adjust strategies to increase reach and impact.

Internal Communications:
Ensure clear, consistent, and effective communication within the organization.
Develop and distribute internal newsletters and updates.

Skills Needed:
Exceptional writing and editing skills.
Proven experience in media relations and social media management.
Strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
