Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team at Methodist Hospital Texsan, ensuring that we continue to deliver high-quality, efficient care to all patients. We pride ourselves on our supportive environment and are eager to welcome a new member who shares our commitment to patient care.

Your Role Will Include:

  • Applying the nursing process, critical thinking, scientific judgment, technical skills, and leadership to provide safe nursing care to patients.
  • Collaborating with the patient care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and effective communication as you engage in unit and organizational activities.
  • Demonstrating teamwork and adaptability while serving as a resource for the patient care team.
  • Being accountable for delivering quality nursing services and promoting a positive image of the nursing profession.

Qualifications Required:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (diploma, associate, or baccalaureate degree).
  • A minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse.
  • Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Texas RN License required within 90 days for those with a Compact License).
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.

Methodist Hospital Texsan is a 120-bed acute care facility recognized as one of South Texas's leading heart and orthopedic hospitals. We are certified in chest pain and heart failure, offering comprehensive cardiac services. Our orthopedic programs, including the Joint Replacement Academy and the Center for Spine, boast some of the best clinical outcomes in the industry, utilizing advanced technology such as robotics.

We are proud to be the first hospital in San Antonio to receive the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain Certification and have been recognized with the Heart Care Center National Distinction of Excellence. Our ICU has earned the Silver Beacon Award for Excellence, and we are recognized as a Level IV trauma center. Our 30-bed Inpatient Rehab Unit has received the Rehabilitation Stroke Certification from the Joint Commission. Methodist Hospital Texsan has been named one of Modern Healthcare's Best Places to Work in Healthcare for three consecutive years and was honored with the 2019 Guardian of Excellence Award by Press Ganey.
