Position Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of equipment, facilities, and surrounding grounds. This role is commonly known as a Janitor and includes various responsibilities as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough cleaning tasks, including the use of compressed air for equipment maintenance.
  • Perform scrubbing, sanitizing, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping duties.
  • Manage waste disposal, clean spills, replace air fresheners, change light bulbs, secure premises, paint, maintain water coolers, and prepare facilities for events.
  • Clean various areas, including offices, restrooms, and break rooms.
  • Assist in moving furniture, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Apply pest control measures, maintain outdoor areas, and clear walkways of debris.
  • Engage in safety programs and use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
  • Maintain records of maintenance activities and monitor cleaning supplies.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks for loading and unloading tasks.
  • Adhere to efficiency and safety standards consistently.
  • Follow directives from supervisors and maintain a tidy work environment.
  • Assist with general maintenance tasks as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Support other production roles as required.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to recognize colors and sizes, and accurately count and sort items.
  • In certain locations, certification to operate powered industrial trucks may be required.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning products and procedures, or a willingness to learn.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Ability to work independently and follow both written and verbal instructions.

Education:

No formal education requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Physical activities include standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 90 lbs. Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs and perform tasks in various environmental conditions.

Travel Requirements:

No travel is required for this position.
