Economic Project Specialist

At ASARCO LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Economic Project Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager to streamline administrative functions, ensure operational efficiency, and foster communication between departments. With a good understanding of the mining industry's unique challenges and opportunities, the Economic Project Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives and optimizing the General Manager's productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the General Manager in setting strategic goals and operational plans.
Monitor the implementation of strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Conduct research and analysis to aid decision-making on operational and strategic issues.
Requirements:
Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking skills.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Proficient in MS Office Suite and highly proficient in Excel including pivot tables, macros, and VBA scripting.
Proficient in Business Process Modeling Software (Visio, Lucidchart or equal).
Proficient in Data Analytics and Visualization Tools (MS Power BI, Tableau or equal).
Proficient in Project Management Software (Microsoft Project, Smartsheet or equal).
Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or equal.
Willingness to travel as required.
Must be able to work in a typical office environment and occasionally visit mining sites.
Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods.
Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Mining Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior administrative or operations role, preferably in the mining industry.
Bilingual Spanish.
English language fluency.
