Position Overview

As a Cost Estimation Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in the development of comprehensive Program Life Cycle Cost Estimates and analyses for various weapon systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the creation and refinement of cost estimates for acquisition programs.
  • Collaborate with the Cost Estimating and Analysis branch, technical teams, and leadership to ensure accurate financial assessments.
  • Translate complex technical and programmatic data from engineering teams and industry partners into precise cost evaluations.
  • Provide strategic direction and mentorship to a team of cost estimating professionals, both government and contractor personnel.
  • Utilize resources effectively and coordinate team efforts to deliver thorough and reliable estimates and analyses.
  • Oversee the review and coordination of cost estimating products and services that support acquisition initiatives.
Qualifications

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must meet federal employment suitability requirements.
  • Participation in the direct deposit pay program is mandatory.
  • New hires will undergo an E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must obtain and maintain a security clearance prior to starting the position.
  • Travel may be required to various locations, including remote sites.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.

Educational Requirements:

To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a degree in operations research or a related field that includes a minimum of 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, and calculus.

Additionally, applicants should have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, focusing on life cycle cost estimation and analysis for weapon systems or similar national security acquisitions.
