Job Summary

This position will provide experienced cost analysis and estimating support for Department of Homeland Security (DHS) programs. The successful candidate will assist customers with developing procurement solutions through the use of mathematical, statistical, and operations research techniques.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate in cost teams performing cost estimating and cost analysis of DHS programs.
- Develop cost models incorporating cost risk and uncertainty through Monte Carlo discrete event simulation, documenting and presenting results, communicating with stakeholders, and attending various program meetings.
- Assist with identifying and collecting cost data, preparing Work Breakdown Structures, normalizing data, performing statistical regression analysis, learning curve analysis and other analyses.
- Perform cost analyst duties, responsible for overall development, evaluation, and quality assurance of cost estimates, including ad-hoc special studies.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree required; preferred in Mathematics, Business, Engineering, or related fields. Graduate and Post Graduate degrees are a plus and may substitute for years of experience.
- Possess a Government or industry standard cost certification is preferred.
- Demonstrated skill in conducting advanced mathematical, statistical, econometric, and other scientific methods.
- Demonstrated skill in creating and maintaining databases and working with spreadsheets and complex models.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic work environment and ability to coordinate and perform multiple assignments.
- Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated capability to work both independently and under the direction of experienced analysts.

Security Requirements

- Must be a US citizen. Active Clearance not required, but Secret Clearance desired. Ability to obtain a clearance (up to Top Secret) may be required in the future.
