Position Overview:
Under general supervision, the Senior Auditor is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and executing financial, compliance, and operational audits. The role ensures adherence to laws, regulations, policies, and legal requirements applicable to school districts and federally and state-funded programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive audits to verify compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Utilize knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and auditing standards to evaluate financial practices.
  • Assess internal control systems and recommend improvements.
  • Analyze and interpret data to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Engage in critical thinking to evaluate information and claims effectively.
  • Communicate findings through well-structured reports and presentations.

Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, finance, business administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.

Experience: A minimum of four years of experience in conducting financial and/or compliance audits.

Certifications: A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license may substitute for one year of the required experience.

Additional Requirements: A valid California driver's license may be required.
