General Manager

As a General Manager for Cardinal House in Arlington, you'll be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Community Association, including financial management, property management, governance, and staff management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide input and assist the Board with the preparation of the Association's annual budget
- Implement the annual budget, perform general financial management, and maintain accurate records
- Assist Association and In-House counsel on collection matters and monitor maintenance fee accounts
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports
- Develop specifications for services received by the Association, such as landscaping, snow removal, and trash disposal
- Manage the bid process, review proposals, and make recommendations to the Board
- Negotiate contracts for routine services, subject to Board approval and counsel review
- Maintain accurate files, records, and correspondence in accordance with company procedures and best practices
- Prepare Board meeting agendas, management reports, and other materials for the Board Packet
- Coordinate activities of association professionals, including attorneys, auditors, and engineers
- Establish and maintain an annual calendar of association activities, deadlines, and meetings
- Foster a cohesive working environment through team-building initiatives
- Manage the performance of direct reports and team members, addressing concerns and enforcing policies
- Support the implementation of company and business unit initiatives and strategies
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in hospitality, property, or facilities management
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience
- Experience managing large direct or indirect staff
- Working knowledge of budgets and fiduciary responsibility
- Demonstrated decision-making ability
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of legislation impacting property management (preferred)
- Strong understanding of the proposal/bid process
- Possession of or willingness to obtain CMCA/AMS certification
- Critical thinking, problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in computer programs like Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows
- Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information
As a full-time exempt associate, you will be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision plans, time off benefits, paid holidays, and a 401(k) with company match. Occasional travel may be required for training and company functions.
Compensation: $105,000 - $115,000 annually
