Job Title: Nursing Assistant Care Specialist

About the Role:

As a Nursing Assistant Care Specialist with Freedom Staffing Services, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to assist licensed nursing staff with treatments and care of residents as ordered or needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and all ADL's as needed during shift.
  • Change linen on beds with bath schedule and/or PRN.
  • Take and record vital signs per policy and/or as directed.
  • Assist residents in and out of bed as needed.
  • Turn residents while in bed per Facility policy.
  • Reposition residents while out of bed per Facility policy.
  • Assist with oral hygiene including denture care when getting up in the morning, after meals, at bedtime, and/or when needed.
  • Answer call bells promptly following Facility policy.
  • Complete patient care records at end of shift, including accurate I and O.
  • Collect urine or stool specimens as directed.
  • Give enemas as directed.
  • Keep patient unit/halls clean and neat.
  • Keep bedside tables, chest of drawers, and closets clean, neat and organized.
  • Care for and clean nursing equipment.
  • Follow restraint policy, including release.
  • Assist with post-mortem care when needed.
  • Assure residents have fresh ice water by refilling pitchers with ice and/or water at least once every shift.
  • Clean water pitchers, cups, bedpans, urinals per schedules.
  • Rinse personal clothing, sheets, etc. if soiled before placing in appropriate laundry barrel.
  • Assist residents to bathrooms as needed or assists with bedpan or urinal.
  • Empty catheter bags at end of shift and record output on appropriate record.
  • Assist with rehabilitation programs such as ambulation, bowel and bladder retraining, grooming, etc.
  • Report at end of shift to oncoming CNA's.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
