Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehab Technician to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Rehab Technician, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and mobility support under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform patient care and mobility tasks within patient care units, coordinating with registered nurses and therapists as needed.
  • Maintain patient activity assignment sheets and document patient care and mobility activities in the patient record.
  • Perform additional documentation as required or assigned.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, ensuring their personal and comfort needs are met.
  • Maintain necessary supplies and equipment to promote patient care and mobility activities, cleaning equipment as needed.
  • Notify supervisors of patient supply and equipment needs, providing adequate accounts of equipment and supplies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year of experience as a nursing assistant highly preferred.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of equipment common to the unit.
  • Utilize and care for equipment on nursing units.
  • Meet continuing education requirements, including CPR and unit-specific competencies.
  • Maintain knowledge and resources necessary to provide appropriate care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Recognize changes in patient condition and report accordingly.
  • Complete role-specific orientation, including 40 hours of rehab content.
  • Complete MIS training.
  • Demonstrate passive and active range of motion.
  • Work side-by-side with PT, OT, ST upon evaluation of patient's ability/needs.
  • Show knowledge of skills training with eating, transferring, toileting, and mobility.
