We are currently looking for a Project Cost Manager to become an integral part of our team. In this position, you will play a key role in shaping and overseeing the financial strategy of projects. Collaborating closely with the project management team, you will manage budgets, costs, change orders, pricing requests, billings, and forecasts. Your responsibilities will include generating and maintaining comprehensive reports that provide valuable insights to various stakeholders, identifying variances and risks, and ensuring adherence to quality control processes to enhance project cost management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all project disciplines to ensure a clear understanding of overall project budget allowances and targets.
  • Examine project documents and specifications to accurately identify, develop, and monitor change order requests, baseline estimates, and potential risk exposures, while effectively communicating impacts on financial targets and project timelines.
  • Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate integration of all necessary information for billings, payment applications, change orders, and direct costs.
  • Engage with the project management team, executive management, subcontractors, and occasionally clients to facilitate effective communication.
  • Oversee cost engineering, estimation, analysis, and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for proposal estimating that necessitates a moderate level of technical expertise.
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, consistency, and transparency in all cost management deliverables, including change management processes.
  • Take ownership of the cost control function, ensuring the integrity of cost and forecast reporting.

Qualifications

  • Willingness to travel to serve clients in the Midwest region.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • At least 6 years of experience in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of project development stages, procurement, project controls, and construction execution practices.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as PMWeb or similar project portfolio management tools, data servers, Excel, JDE, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to fulfilling customer expectations.
  • PMP certification is preferred.
