About Our Client

Our client is a reputable Design-Build General Contractor and Construction Management firm based in Northwest Indiana. With over 75 years of experience, they specialize in education and municipal construction projects in the area. They pride themselves on their collaborative working environment and longstanding relationships with clients and local municipalities.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Thoroughly understanding project specifications, contract conditions, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Executing the established project schedule and maintaining consistent communication with project managers and owners.
  • Determining work priorities, estimating manpower needs, and assigning tasks among employees.
  • Coordinating and tracking job-site materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Managing labor costs and ensuring project expenditures align with the construction budget.
  • Ensuring employees are trained on work standards, safety protocols, and regulations.
  • Completing and maintaining project documents, including equipment maintenance reports and safety records.
  • Leading inspections to enforce conformity to contract specifications.
  • Responsible for quality control and assurance on the site/project.
  • Acting as an advisor on job-related problems and managing employee performance.
  • Creating a culture that values safety, health, and cleanliness.
  • Ensuring project closeout process is finalized, demobilizing resources, and transitioning the project to the owner.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An Associate Degree in Construction Management or a related field, or a Journeyman status in a building trade, or a combination of high school diploma with relevant experience and certifications.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry on complex projects.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Experience with self-perform and knowledge of various construction materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and specifications for institutional, commercial, and industrial projects.
  • Strong relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, subcontractors, project managers, and field employees.
  • Solid understanding of project cost analysis and proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and other software used in the construction industry.
