Construction Estimator

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Heritage Construction + Materials. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the generation of estimates and new business opportunities in assigned markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with quotes generation
- Prepare and submit shop/structural drawings
- Compute various cost factors
- Review data to determine material and labor requirements
- Ensure accuracy of all information
- Solicit suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop beneficial business relationships
- Develop good working relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Develop a network and contacts within the community
- Perform day-to-day estimating tasks
- Generate quantity take-off
- Prepare purchase orders and rough draft subcontractor agreements
- Prepare sub-supplier lists
- Communicate with internal/external customers
- Answer inquiries via phone, email or in-person
- Provide highest levels of customer service
- Make presentations to large and small groups
- Translate technical information into easily understood language
- Promote and maintain safe work environment
- Exhibit safe work behaviors
- Wear all prescribed PPE
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Construction Technology, Construction Management or related field preferred
- 1-3 years experience in asphalt paving/bridge construction or related industry

- PE license preferred
- Drivers License is required
Working Conditions:
- Clerical office environment
- Indoor lab conditions that include standard office equipment such as computers, photocopier, phone, filing cabinets, fax machines, cubicles
- Fast paced with changing priorities and tight deadlines; medium to high stress requiring mental dexterity and resilience
- Regular travel to job sites, customer sites, and corporate offices around the state is required; mostly day trips, but some overnight travel may be expected
