At Boston University, we are seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our team at WBUR Engineering. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the management and maintenance of our network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls. Your expertise will also be essential in managing our server, desktop, and disk array systems.

As a WBUR IT Systems Administrator, you will provide primary Helpdesk support for our staff, ensuring that our team members have the technical assistance they need to perform their duties effectively. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills to work closely with other IT staff and users to identify and resolve network-related issues.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in network management tools and software, as well as experience with industry standards and best practices for network monitoring and security. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls
  • Manage server, desktop, and disk array systems
  • Provide primary Helpdesk support for staff
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and users to resolve network-related issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of related experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with network management tools and software
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices for network monitoring and security
