As a key member of the logistics team, the Supply Chain Coordinator will oversee shipment planning for both internal and external freight by generating orders and loads within the necessary TMS/JDE system, managing communications with carriers and facilities regarding order movement, carrier development, and appointment scheduling, as well as coordinating with various operational and commercial groups, leading freight optimization initiatives, and conducting freight market analysis in designated areas.


Responsibilities:
Facilitates transportation planning across assigned locations as needed.


Acts as a liaison between logistics, customer service, procurement, and carriers to establish robust operating processes and proactive communications.

Provides regular updates on shipment status, addresses priority issues, and responds to assistance requests promptly.


Responsible for managing inquiries in the group email inbox as assigned and executing daily load planning activities for IM, LTL, and TL shipments.

Creates internal plant transfer orders as necessary to meet forecasted demand by reviewing ERP system notifications.

Monitors open orders, supply/demand, and internal production requirements from an item's bills of materials to ensure accurate supply levels.


Possesses a clear understanding of inventory levels, including safety stock, replenishment needs, and requested demand for all assigned items.

Accountable for monitoring and maintaining effective inventory levels for all assigned transfer items.

Responsible for routing and planning all freight.

Oversees private fleet route planning.

Optimizes daily transportation plans through load consolidation.

Manages key metrics that drive inventory optimization alongside freight cost reduction.


Assists in coordinating the creation of transfer item setups, cost rolling, transferring bills of materials, routing notes, plate numbers, and necessary ORM in collaboration with Sales Support, Scheduling, Creative Services, and PDM teams.

Helps resolve CIOs, damage claims, and carrier service issues as required.

Identifies opportunities for greater efficiencies and cost reductions.

Implements projects that enhance efficiencies and maximize cost advantages.

Reviews and updates processes to keep them current.

Provides support and training to new hires or others as necessary.

Performs additional tasks as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or closely related equivalent

2-3 years of experience in the transportation industry required

Familiarity with LTL/TL pricing formats

Experience with TMS systems required

Knowledge of Blujay/TMC is a plus

Ability to lead and influence in a matrix environment

Proficient in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data.

JDE/Cognos/Tableau proficiency is a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications

Effective communication skills with both external and internal customers
