Position Overview:

The Community Engagement Advocate will be selected from within the designated community area recognized as the Population of Focus (POF). This role involves providing outreach and engagement services to ensure that the POF is informed about available mental health services and actively collaborates in the design, execution, and assessment of crisis intervention strategies. Ensure continuity of program services in an ethical, legal, and moral manner within a secure and therapeutic setting, adhering to applicable regulatory and accreditation standards. Certain Community Engagement Advocate roles must qualify to pursue the Certified Recovery Support Specialist credential (CRSS) based on their personal experiences.

Job Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, GED, or higher education
  • Specific Community Engagement Advocate roles must qualify to pursue the Certified Recovery Support Specialist credential (CRSS) based on their personal experiences
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet agency insurance requirements
  • Must possess personal transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Willingness, capability, and dedication to serve as a recovery role model
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Rosecrance
Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with other team members, deliver mobile crisis response services in the community when dispatched.

Facilitate the engagement of individuals reluctant to connect with behavioral health professionals or first responders through trust-building and resource provision.

Actively engage as a partner in the design, execution, and evaluation of crisis intervention strategies.

Advocate for individuals with professionalism and a collaborative, non-confrontational approach.

Provide appropriate behavioral interventions and advocacy for individuals facing adverse mental health conditions.

Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of community resources and the full spectrum of services offered by Rosecrance.

Supply clients with resources tailored to their needs, including referrals to additional treatment options when necessary.

Conduct thorough follow-up communications with clients and/or their families, providing additional referrals as required.

Ensure timely completion of all required documentation within designated timeframes.

Participate in training sessions aimed at obtaining the CRSS credential.

Engage in statewide events/summits/trainings/activities that support the education and development of consumer provider services.

Attend all scheduled staff meetings, team meetings, or relevant committee meetings as designated.

Schedule: 8-hour shifts
  • Shift: Monday - Friday 11:00pm - 7:30am
