Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team at WEG Transformers USA. As a Welder, you will be responsible for setting up and operating MIG welding machines, adjusting machine and wire feed as required, and welding on 16 gauge to 10 gauge mild steel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate MIG welding machines, adjust machine and wire feed as required.
  • Weld on 16 gauge to 10 gauge mild steel, attaching accessories and fittings or seam welding on parts.
  • Work from layout marks, simple drawings, and blueprints.
  • Use scale, square, and power tools to assemble and tack weld repetitive jobs.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional checks of own work.
  • Support WEG's 5S program in maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Notify supervisor of material shortages or other concerns.
  • Work safely in required PPE to manufacture high-quality components of a transformer.
Requirements
  • Prior welding experience.
  • Able to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to work evening or night shift.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend common vocabulary.
  • Must be able to calculate basic math, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, plans, layouts, and/or templates.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Welding Assessment to WEG Transformers USA (WTU) standards.
  • Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis; visa sponsorship is not available for these positions.
  • Safety Sensitive position: Drug panel includes THC.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Participation in Future Farmers of America (FFA) or 4-H Welding projects/programs.
  • Completion of Welding Trade school and/or Apprenticeship program.
  • Two years of prior manufacturing experience.
