We are seeking dedicated and safety-oriented individuals to become part of our manufacturing team.
This position offers a $2000 Sign-On Bonus along with a daily bonus potential of up to $10 per hour.
New hires can achieve a total compensation of $60K while working a 50-hour week at Canam Steel Corporation, which includes base pay, overtime, retention, and production bonuses.
Additional earning opportunities are available through referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.
This is a full-time role with comprehensive benefits.
Shift Details:
1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with overtime including some weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate various machines to cut, stamp, bend, punch, or otherwise shape steel components used in the fabrication of finished products such as steel joists, bridging, girders, and other structural steel elements.
- Count and package bolts for shipment while maintaining accurate records.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize shop paperwork and drawings to effectively set up machines for required part production.
- Proficient in using measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
- May operate overhead cranes or other equipment to transport raw materials and finished goods.
- Potentially required to assemble components through welding.
- Feed raw materials into machines and remove finished products.
- Operate machines using hand or foot controls.
Physical Requirements:
- Capability to stand and walk for an entire shift.
- Ability to use hands and fingers for grasping, holding, pushing/pulling, carrying, flipping, and maneuvering tools and materials of various lengths and weights.
- Frequent reaching and holding of arms overhead.
- May involve crouching, bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting.
- Frequent climbing or balancing.
- Ability to lift 60 lbs or more repeatedly throughout the day.
- Good vision, including close, distant, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Work Environment:
- Open shop setting with potential exposure to varying temperatures.
- Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
- Frequent interaction with moving mechanical parts and welding operations.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically very loud.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
The following PPE must be worn at all times:
- Hard hat
- Earplugs
- Safety glasses
- Gloves
- Steel-toed boots
- Metatarsal guards
