Job Title: Construction Field Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Construction Field Engineer to join our team at Los Alamos National Laboratory. As a Construction Field Engineer, you will provide field engineering support to ensure the successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review construction submittals and provide technical clarification of design during construction
  • Assure installations conform to design drawings and manufacturer's instructions
  • Identify potential design conflicts and schedule testing and inspection of constructed work
  • Document quality assurance and control processes
  • Assist with preparation of constructed work for commissioning and turnover of completed work to facilities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or Industrial Systems Engineering or a related field
  • 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated adept knowledge of construction engineering principles
  • Expertise in reading and understanding engineering design documents, drawings, and specifications
  • Proficiency in collaborative problem-solving and interpreting construction industry specifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered Engineer in Training (EIT) or licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Advanced engineering or technical degree
  • Experience using and interpreting industry, regulatory, or Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) codes, standards, and criteria
