Position Overview:
The Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in the banking sector, leveraging extensive experience from the Personal Banking Representative role. This individual will provide mentorship to staff and serve as a reliable backup for the Operations Supervisor when necessary.

  • Expertise in deposit processing tasks, including cash handling and balancing teller drawers.
  • Utilizes various software applications to complete daily responsibilities and assists in training fellow employees on these systems.
  • Possesses advanced knowledge of Alpine Bank products and banking regulations.
  • Involved in training and coaching both new and existing staff members.
  • Assists with location audits, scheduling, and staff development.
  • Exhibits advanced proficiency in customer sales and service.
  • Performs all duties associated with Customer Service and Personal Banking as required.
  • Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Acts as a backup to the Operations Supervisor, undertaking specific duties as assigned. Capable of providing overrides and auditing drawers as needed. Employees are accountable for all responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications:
  • Customer service-oriented individual with demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Understanding and application of relevant banking regulation compliance.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with colleagues and customers.
  • Basic mathematical and cash handling skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Understanding and application of banking compliance regulations.
  • Utilizes available tools and training programs to exceed customer expectations.
  • Bilingual abilities are advantageous.

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is recommended. A valid State of Colorado Driver's License is required. Candidates should have mastered the requirements of the Customer Service Representative and Personal Banking roles, typically with at least one year of relevant experience.

Working Environment:
This position operates within a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The role may require prolonged periods of standing or sitting and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Occasional travel may be necessary.

Physical Requirements:
Successful performance of essential functions may require:
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Good eyesight and hand/finger dexterity.
  • Ability to manage mental stress when interacting with upset customers.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear, with specific vision abilities including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Repetitive motion tasks.
