  • Operating and maintaining various equipment, including hydraulic tools, power saws, and chippers.
  • Utilizing a bucket truck to remove branches and debris near energized lines.
  • Conducting tree and bucket rescues as necessary.
  • Employing hand tools such as axes and pruners for effective tree maintenance.
  • Managing cleanup and disposal of all debris post-work.
  • Applying herbicides selectively to manage brush and stumps.
  • Training new team members in operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Familiarity with electrical hazards is essential.
  • Ability to identify various tree and shrub species.
  • Physical stamina and coordination are required for the role.

Education & Experience:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • This is an entry-level position; no prior experience is necessary.
  • Previous experience in a related field is advantageous.

Pre-Screen:

  • Selected candidates may need to pass a pre-employment drug screening, background check, and/or motor vehicle record check.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • A driver's license is preferred but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, kneeling, crawling, color vision, climbing stairs.
  • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stooping, squatting, climbing on/off trucks, climbing ladders, pushing, reading, lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Carrying, pulling, balancing, body-twisting, hearing/speech range, lifting, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, walking.
  • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, sense of touch, gripping, seeing, reaching, depth perception, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., climbing.

Safety Considerations:

Due to the hazardous nature of this industry, employees must possess adequate eyesight for distance judgment and coordination of tools, maintain focus for extended periods, and be able to work in various weather conditions. They must also be capable of wearing personal protective equipment as required, entering and exiting vehicles frequently, and navigating diverse terrains throughout the workday. Effective communication skills are necessary for understanding job instructions and resolving conflicts professionally.

Employees will be exposed to various environmental factors, including irritants and insects, as well as working near energized equipment and in high-traffic areas. Proper hearing protection is required due to noise from machinery and tools.
