Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Public Safety Investigator to join our team at Chumash Enterprises. As a key member of our Public Safety department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our guests, Team Members, and assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Detect and Investigate Unlawful Conduct: Identify and investigate any unlawful conduct, gaming or policy violations by guests and Team Members.
  • Preserve the Peace and Ensure Safety: Ensure the safety of all guests and Team Members, and ensure resort rules, regulations, policies, and procedures are complied with.
  • Respond to Calls for Assistance: Respond to calls from Resort Team Members and guests requiring back-up and assistance.
  • Conduct Complex Investigations: Collaborate with Public Safety, Surveillance, and Resort Team Members to conduct sensitive and complex investigations involving unlawful conduct, with the Resort and Enterprise.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate effectively with all parties involved in public safety and investigation activities.
  • Summon Law Enforcement Agencies: Detect and summon appropriate law enforcement agencies when necessary and appropriate.
  • Complete Incident Reports: Complete reports on incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
  • Adhere to AML Program: Adhere to all aspects of the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Program and its regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Security Experience: Five years of prior experience as an armed peace officer, dealing directly with the public.
  • California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic Certificate: Possess minimum California Peace Officer Standards and Training Basic certificate or equivalent.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to withstand physical contact and verbal abuse/harassment from guests and Team Members.
  • Basic Computer Proficiency: Basic computer proficiency utilizing Microsoft applications, e-mail, and internet.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible schedules in a 24/7 work environment, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
  • Gaming License: Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Security or Related Field: Bachelor's Degree in Security, preferred Business, related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Strategic Thinking: Understands and processes complex information and exercises sound judgment, considering the situation, the issues, the key players, and the levels of authority involved.
  • Conceptual Thinking: Understanding a given situation or problem by combining information that is readily available; identifying patterns or connections between situations that are not obviously related.
  • Problem Solving: Having the ability to identify problems and issues of varying complexities and to find effective solutions with few guidelines.
  • Integrity: Upholding generally accepted social and ethical standards in job-related activities and behaviors.
  • Self-Confidence: Believing in one's capabilities; dealing confidently with increasingly challenging circumstances; reaching decisions or forming opinions, standing up for his/her interests, and handling failure constructively.

Minimum Pay Rate: $37.34 per hour

Maximum Pay Rate: $43.92 per hour
