Job Summary

The University of Miami seeks an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to deliver medical care to a wide variety of patients. As a genetic nurse practitioner, you will examine and treat patients independently and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Your responsibilities will include ensuring proper illness and injury care, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery. You may prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests. Additionally, you will advise patients about continuing care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document complete physical examinations and comprehensive health histories.
• Function independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for patients.
• Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
• Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities.
• Implement interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability.

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing.
• Licensed as an ARNP.
• Current BLS certificate.
• Credentialed to see patients of all ages.
• Fluent Spanish or Creole speakers are preferred. Or willing to learn either language.
