We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our team as a Rapid Response Specialist at Lowell General Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and coordinating transfers to higher levels of care as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with the Acute Care team for daily assignments and critical care needs.
- Carry a phone to facilitate communication and respond to rapid responses, code blues, and other critical situations.
- Round on units to assist staff with medication administration, documentation, IV insertions, and patient care.
- Assist in maintaining rapid and code data collection and respond to stemi activations, stroke activations, and code greens.
- May be called upon to accompany or transport monitored patients to testing or designated areas.
- May be assigned to facilitate admissions, discharges, or transport to assigned units.
- Assist staff with procedures, policies, and care of patients on inpatient floors and adapt to change and welcome new approaches when circumstances demand.
- May take temporary patient assignments, such as imaging and transfers to other units and during rapid responses.
- Work closely with staff to develop an environment that promotes staff growth, role competency, and proficiency in nursing skills and critical thinking.
- Current ICU, ED, or equivalent critical care experience required (one year minimum).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid BLS and ACLS certifications required.
- BSN preferred.
