Development Assistant - Project Grace

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Development Assistant to support our fundraising efforts for Project Grace. As a key member of our Development team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our ambitious fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Donor Relations Director to grow revenue and enhance corporate and community partnerships.
  • Oversee financial accounting and compliance of the Cape Fear Museum Associates, Inc.
  • Connect with existing donors and develop new engagement opportunities, particularly in relation to Project Grace.
  • Assist in creating and managing a robust volunteer program to boost community engagement and expand the donor base.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Donor Relations Director to expand engagement, including stewardship of existing donors and implementation of new donor avenues.
  • Research new grant opportunities and perform record keeping for grant compliance.
  • Manage online sharing of board financial documents and communication.
  • Maintain the Cape Fear Museum Associates nonprofit regulated documentation.
  • Draft and record Cape Fear Museum Associates board agendas, minutes, and communications.
  • Management of fundraising events and logistics.
  • Design and create fundraising marketing and promotional materials.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Balance monthly bank and investment accounts.
  • Pay quarterly NC sales tax for any inventory sold.
  • Ability to juggle various projects and pay attention to detail with written and phone correspondence.
  • Maintain a clear view of how each project supports the Museum and County values.
  • Maintain a positive attitude as a team member and customer service agent.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in a related field or 2 years of relevant work and/or education.
  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and other data systems.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting and best practices.
  • Background with graphic design and development of marketing materials.
