We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Consultant to join our team at the Arizona Superior Court in Pima County. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide expert guidance and support to our employees and management team on a wide range of human resources-related issues.
Key Responsibilities- Provide professional-level human resources services to all Superior Court divisions and other courts as required.
- Offer coaching, guidance, and feedback on job performance, performance management, progressive discipline, and workplace culture.
- Consult with managers and supervisors on performance issues and progressive discipline, recommending approaches to resolve workplace issues in accordance with applicable policies and laws.
- Receive and investigate employee complaints, evaluating them to determine whether to retain, assign, or forward them to an appropriate person for handling.
- Conduct formal and informal investigations into allegations of unpaid wages, workplace bullying, workplace violence, workplace and sexual harassment, and grievances alleging discrimination and/or misinterpretation, misapplication, or unequal enforcement of court rules and policies.
- Prepare confidential and sensitive reports on the results of investigations, identifying violations of court policies.
- Facilitate mediation processes to reconcile conflicts between employees and/or management, presenting individuals with available alternatives when applicable.
- Participate in the ADA interactive process to identify reasonable accommodations.
- Advise employees, supervisors, managers, and judges on the application of personnel policies and procedures.
- Participate in interview and selection processes as requested.
- Review position descriptions for accuracy, recommending changes as needed.
- Review language on performance reviews and disciplinary documentation for fairness and equity.
- Help develop, lead, and administer court-wide human resources programs and initiatives, such as safety, diversity, orientation, and onboarding, ergonomics, and/or recognition programs.
- Evaluate, research, and advise on difficult issues related to FMLA, ADA, Workers' Compensation, and other leave administration.
- Develop and implement human resources procedures and policies, communicating information about court-wide initiatives, policies, and procedures to managers and staff, and obtaining their feedback and input.
- Coordinate and conduct exit interviews.
- Research and develop training programs on various human resource topics as required.
- A Bachelor's degree in personnel management, business, or public administration, or a related field.
- Five years of professional human resources experience, including coordinating or conducting investigations of sexual harassment and/or unlawful discrimination.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by Human Resources.
