Benedictine University seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach Printmaking courses during the Fall 2024 semester and beyond. This is a part-time, adjunct position teaching in-person studio courses at our campus located in Mesa, AZ. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of Printmaking courses, such as Silkscreen, Lithography, Relief, and Intaglio (Etching). Additional opportunities to teach in other areas may be available depending on experience, such as Painting, Drawing, Art Therapy, and Design Foundation.

The ideal candidate will have an MFA or Master's degree in Printmaking or a related field, with professional experience or knowledge in a related field. Teaching experience at the university level is preferred. The instructor should be passionate about teaching and capable of engaging students in meaningful discussions and critical thinking about art and its context.

The appointment is for one semester at a time, with the possibility of renewal. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. The estimated salary for this position is around $45,000 to $60,000 per year, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The following are the key qualifications and responsibilities for this position:

  • Teach Printmaking courses, such as Silkscreen, Lithography, Relief, and Intaglio (Etching)
  • Teach in-person studio courses at our campus located in Mesa, AZ
  • Have an MFA or Master's degree in Printmaking or a related field
  • Have professional experience or knowledge in a related field
  • Have teaching experience at the university level (preferred)
  • Be capable of engaging students in meaningful discussions and critical thinking about art and its context
