Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Cost Accounting Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough analysis of data and options by creating detailed Excel reports and verifying the accuracy of information.
  • Prepare and evaluate Standard Costs related to Direct Labor and Overhead expenses.
  • Enhance and utilize Microsoft Finance & Operations to ensure comprehensive costing of all Work In Progress (WIP) and Finished Goods (FG) items.
  • Support the Cycle Count process and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist in the monthly reconciliation of inventory.
  • Evaluate staffing requirements and confirm staffing levels against payroll records.
  • Generate and maintain reports on Sales Product and Mix.
  • Update and manage the Least Cost Formulations (LCF) Excel workbook based on R&D updates and performance metrics.
  • Ensure Standards are maintained within the Knowledge Mine (KM) System.
  • Oversee ABC Overhead Cost files for various locations.
  • Assist with external audit processes as needed.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a preference for cost accounting.
  • At least 3 years of operational experience, particularly in inventory management.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Finance and Operations is essential.
  • Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical abilities with a keen focus on precision and detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence in presenting professional insights.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles and general accounting practices.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and data management are mandatory.
Work Environment:
  • This position requires spending approximately 50% of the time in a plant environment with cooler temperatures.

Compensation for this role will be commensurate with experience.
