Union Biometrica is seeking a dedicated field service engineer to provide testing and support for our advanced life-science instruments, both in the field and at our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
This role involves diagnosing and resolving instrument issues effectively. You will engage with customers both remotely and on-site, requiring travel throughout the US and occasionally internationally for installations, support, and maintenance tasks.
Additionally, you will collaborate with the manufacturing team to assist in instrument production and testing. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with diverse individuals and technical teams.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to manufacturing and selling sophisticated automated instruments utilized in groundbreaking biomedical research, including drug discovery and genetics.
This hands-on role will require you to troubleshoot and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, optical, fluidic, and software systems. You will work closely with engineers, scientists, and customers.
Responsibilities Include:
- Testing and troubleshooting instruments on the manufacturing floor and in the field.
- Documenting engineering changes and evaluating new designs.
- Engaging with customers to guide them through problem-solving processes.
Travel Requirements
This position allows for flexibility in location, though regular attendance at our headquarters is necessary. Expect 40-80% travel monthly.
Qualifications
We are looking for a service engineer with:
- Over 5 years of experience in field diagnostics and technical problem-solving.
- Excellent hands-on technical capabilities.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills across various components.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Comfort in both manufacturing environments and customer laboratories.
- A responsive approach to customer support via phone and virtual meetings.
- A genuine interest in the scientific applications of our instruments.
