Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service in alignment with Joseph's standards.
  • Ensure product freshness and cleanliness in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Assist customers by providing detailed product information, answering inquiries, and making recommendations.
  • Restock, organize, and rotate products within display cases.
  • Package and label items for self-service, ensuring accurate product signage.
  • Prepare and cut fruits and vegetables for sale.
  • Unload deliveries, break down pallets, and sort produce in preparation areas and refrigeration units.
  • Maintain cleanliness of scales and cutting surfaces.
  • Utilize knives, pallet jacks, scales, and other equipment relevant to the Produce department.
  • Support other tasks as directed by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum age of 16 years.
  • Proficient in delivering friendly and respectful customer service.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Capable of interpreting and following instructions accurately.
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Experience in food preparation is preferred.
  • A genuine passion for serving customers.

The role of a Produce Clerk primarily involves working in the Produce department and backroom receiving areas. This position requires walking and standing for extended periods, as well as lifting items weighing up to 80 pounds. Frequent interaction with customers and colleagues is an integral part of the job.
