We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic to join our team at CHI Saint Joseph Health. As a Paramedic, you will play a critical role in providing emergency medical care to patients accessing our emergency department.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care by following the scope of practice provided by the National EMS Scope of Practice Model and aligning your role within functions set forth by CHI Saint Joseph Health.
- Administer BLS, PALS, ACLS, and critical care interventions following the orders and supervision of the attending physician.
- Perform triage, assessments, interventions, and patient education as needed.
- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records in a timely manner.
- Promote patient independence by establishing personal rapport and care goals; teaching patients, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
- Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support.
- Clearly identify yourself as a licensed paramedic while protecting patients and employees by adhering to all CHI Saint Joseph Health policies, protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate from a nationally/state-approved accrediting paramedic program.
- Unrestricted Kentucky Paramedic License.
- Active BLS, ACLS, PALS American Heart Association certifications.
- During the Paramedic's orientation period, the individual will be required to successfully complete an approved Critical Care endorsement course to maintain employment.
